Goodtainer® Frequently Asked Questions

Scheduling & Delivery

If you're ready to rent your Goodtainer® Portable Storage Unit, Click HERE to get started or give us a call and we will walk you through the process.

Our typical delivery time is the next business day of placing an order. However, we may be able to get a box to you sooner for an expedited delivery fee. Expedited delivery will be dependent on box availability, time of year, and delivery zone. For immediate service questions please feel free to give us a call!

If you've already scheduled your delivery for a certain date and need to change that date, give us a call and one of our service reps will assist you in rescheduling your delivery date.

Once you've finished packing your Goodtainer® and it's ready to be stored or moved to another location, give us a call and a representative will assist you with relocating your unit. There is a one time fee of $95 to transfer your loaded Goodtainer® to your new location.

No worries! Our Goodtainer® rentals are month to month, so if you find yourself in a tight spot, please contact us no later than 7 business days prior to your scheduled pickup. In most cases we will be able to extend your rental period.

Cancelations regarding a delivery:
To cancel your current reservation for a Goodtainer® before it's been delivered, you will need to call and speak to one of our representatives. Cancelations must be received 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time.

Cancelations regarding the pick up of a Goodtainer®:
If you currently have a Goodtainer on your site and have scheduled a pick up but need more time, you can cancel a pick up by giving us 24hrs notice before the scheduled pickup time.

We will make every effort to accommodate a cancelation so please contact us with as much notice as possible. Cancelations must be called in and not submitted through our website.

Although we can not promise an exact time that we will deliver your Goodtainer®, we will give you a one hour window for the delivery time. Give us a few days notice of your requested time and there should be no issue with meeting your requirements. We will keep you updated throughout the process with updates and your driver will contact you once they leave the yard with your Goodtainer with a specific arrival time.

We prefer that the point of contact for the account be present when we deliver your Goodtainer® in order to ensure we place it exactly where you want it. This is also a great time for our delivery team to go over pointers for loading and answer any questions you may have. If you're unable to be there when we arrive, no problem. Please give as much information when reserving your Goodtainer® so we can meet all your needs.

Once you've requested a pick up of your Goodtainer®, you do not have to be there when we pick it up. Just ensure that your lock is removed and the Goodtainer® is free of your belongings. Please make sure that the floor is broom clean and that no trash is left behind. We will inspect the unit, send you a final acceptance form and you're good to go.

Loading & Storage

Each Goodtainer® is 16'Long x 8' Wide x 8' Tall or 1,024 cubic feet of total storage. Each 16' Goodtainer® typically accommodates around the average 1,100-1,300 sq feet of household goods. The 20 Foot Goodtainer® is 20'Long x 8' Wide x 8' Tall or 1,280 cubic feet of total storage. Each 20' Goodtainer® typically accommodates around the average 1,800-2,200 sq feet of household goods. The efficiency of packing the Goodtainer may affect how much each container can accommodate. We suggest using moving boxes to pack loose items to get the most out of your storage space. Yes! Our portable storage Goodtainers feature a weatherproof design that feature a Galvanized roof and framing, solid wood marine grade sub floor, foam gaskets on doors and top wall vents to allow the Goodtainer to breathe.

The protection of your personal items is one of our core principles. We've gone to great lengths to ensure that not only the engineering and manufacturing of our Goodtainer is top notch but also securing your belongings once they're inside. Each Goodtainer® offers a sturdy marine grade and coated floor, anchored D-Ring eyelets to secure your strapping and E-track system as well. We also offer an insurance program for the contents of your Goodtainer which ranges from $2,000-$15,000 in coverage.

There are many items that are not allowed within the Goodtainer for safety reasons. For a full detailed list of items that are not allowed, Click Here. Items such as flammable, hazardous or toxic chemicals are not allowed to be stored or transported within the Goodtainer®.

There are no shelves built into the inside of the Goodtainer. Some clients choose to place metal shelving to help make the most of the space available.

Account & Pricing Info

Each Goodtainer® is rented month to month with no long term contracts required. You can rent one for as little as one month or extend the rental as long as you would like. We think business should be simple and honest. Once you rent a Goodtainer® portable storage unit, your month to month rental price will never go up as long as you have it and your account is current. Moving it to another location will not increase your monthly rental rate.

You must be at least 21 years old to rent.

Our month to month rentals are set up to bill out 30 days from the day of your rental. This rental fee is automatically processed until you cancel. When you cancel your rental, you will no longer be charged your monthly rental fee.

Each Goodtainer® has a monthly rental rate that is charged per 30 day cycle. This charge will show up on your credit card each month. There is also a one time transportation or delivery fee charged to each Goodtainer®. The transportation fee is charged one time when you rent the Goodtainer® and covers the cost of delivering and picking the Goodtainer® back up when you are finished. This fee is not charged monthly. On your first rental, your subtotal will include the cost of the month's rental fee plus the transportation delivery fee. The following month's charge will only be for the monthly rental fee.

Once you register for an account with us, you will be able to rent your Goodtainer storage unit and also rent additional storage units you may require. You will also have the option to have multiple Goodtainers rented and delivered to different locations if needed.

All rentals require a credit card in order to create an account.

Please contact us via phone and we will get your account updated with the correct address.

If you need to update the credit card that we currently have on file for your rental, please give us a call and a representative will update the card information.

When you're finished with your Goodtainer®, give us a call to schedule a pickup of your unit. You must notify us 10 business days before your next billing cycle to cancel your service. Your Goodtainer® will be picked up at the end of your rental cycle unless you want us to pick it up earlier.

All contracts are month-to-month. However, we do require a 10 business day notice before you decide to end your rental. This gives us time to schedule and pick up your Goodtainer® by the end of your rental term.

All contracts are month-to-month and your rental may end during the weekend when we are closed. If this happens, we allow a grace period where you will not be charged. For example, if your container rental ends on Saturday, we will pick up the container the following Monday. You will not be charged for the Sunday or Monday.

Our minimum rental period is one month although you do not have to keep the Goodtainer for the entire month. Example, you could rent the container, have it dropped off for temporary storage then picked back up the next day. In this example, you would pay for the full month regardless.

We offer a private secure site to keep your fully loaded Goodtainer safe until you are ready for its return. For more information, give us a call.

All Other Questions

If you're moving from your current home but you don't know where you will move next, Goodtainer can help you out by dropping one of our Goodtainer® Portable Storage Units at your location for you to load at your own pace. When you are finished, give us a call and we will pick up your Goodtainer® and store it for you until you select a new residence. Once you have your new address, give us a call and we will deliver your Goodtainer® to your new home.
